Recommended Color Profiles

The colors that are presented in the web are based on the maximum capacity that most machines can display. Currently, most monitors and video cards display at most 32 bit color and that means 4,294,967,296 colors are displayed, varying from Reds to Violets (Hues), Saturation or Intensity of a Color, and its Darkness or Lightness. Still, with these numbers of colors a display can offer, the web still considers colors that are safe, just like in printing a color should be part in a gamut or in range of colors that is available for printing. If one still uses colors that are not web ‘safe’, a display will do its best to show the color to its nearest available ‘safe’ color. The discrepancy between the two colors if we should try to consider is unnoticeable to slight noticeable. But if you are the one who values color to be displayed that must be accurate to be shown in the web, then he should consider the colors he choose to be ‘safe’.

COLOR SYSTEMS
There are color systems that you may consider. These color systems may guide you in designing and create harmonious colors that you will implement in the design. These color systems include RGB (Red-Green-Blue), CYMK (Cyan-Yellow-Magenta-BlacK), HSV (Hue-Saturation-Value), HSL (Hue-Saturation-Lightness).

RGB

The RGB color systems are mostly implemented in designing software, since most monitors (LCDs and CRTs) used RGB color system in displaying colors. Most designs are not usually to publish but to display on the web, so they may refer to the RGB color system to accurately display designs through web.

CYMK

CYMK color profile is usually followed by someone who will implement it to publish. CYMK which stands Cyan-Yellow-Magenta-Black are the four-color printing on most printing presses and on their printers’ ink. Compared to RGB, CYMK is hard to display the accurate color. CYMK technique used toning in producing intermediate colors, not just compared to RGB which uses mixing.

HSV and HSL

HSV and HSL are somewhat derivatives of RGB (Hues) with added Saturation, Value and Lightness. The difference between them is that Value is the transformation of color to darkness (black), and Lightness is the transformation of the color to white. This is implemented since most designers consider Saturation, Value and Lightness in their designs. It is easy for the designers to use them to get the accurate color they needed.

Implementation of colors in Editing Software

Most editing software uses these most color profiles, and employs and represent them in an intuitive way. Editing Software, now, are flexible to the needs of the users. The designers of the software already know what their users needed, it’s either their users are desktop publishers or web designers. In saving in the file in an original file types, it is easy for the software to read their color profiles since it is embedded in the software for converting them to other profiles.
Whenever you have any designs to implement, you do not need to worry what color profiles to be used. The only thing to keep in mind is that the final output must be in their respective color profiles if you want accurate colors (or not! Since the difference may not be too visible if you weren’t following). But it is recommended to follow these ruling to aid yourself and others get what their wanted.

Selection Of Nice Web Fonts: Handwritten Typefaces

Once the texts are put up on the page, the only typeface selection are the ones readily for the audience: sans or serif? And the choices are plain old boring ones. Wait! I correct myself, these fonts are made for the general audience. They are not boring or a cliche, it is just that you are limited to it in using to the contents so that anyone can access the texts and provide faster loading times. You may also consider converting the texts to images so that the preferred choice of fonts can be easily viewed to the web. Mostly these usages are commonly for the use on typographical layout of the page, and emphasizes the subject, mostly includes headers and titles. The next thing to do is the choice of fonts to be included in the designs.

'Handwritten' Typefaces

Agent Orange

This is included with the ones that I liked. If you implementing some kind of handwritten designs, this font I suggest is worth using. Many used the simple-yet-unique designs on their layout particularly blog designs that create a personal feel. You can download it here for free Agent Orange

Ashley

Another handwritten typeface for another personal feel. This is one cursive which unconsciously ordinary write most on any piece of paper.
Ashley
You can also try Catholic School Girls, another 'handwritten' typeface

Catholic School Girls

Dad Hand

This is more kinda child-like design, mostly preferably on educational organization purposes. This appeals to the reader the sincere feeling of the subject.
Dad hand
If you like Dad Hand, i can also refer to you Eager Naturalist

Eager Naturalist

Kaela

Kaela is something that somehow that disturbs-our-childhood feeling. This shows an inscription typography, usually written on the rocks or carved by the wood. Whatever you use it, its your choice.
Kaela

Nerdproof

Now this one is kinda disturbing, actually, if you want to grab attention the audience, why not choose typefaces that either trigger good or bad to them. Nerdproof makes something a worthwhile use.
Nerdproof

Sakurachan

This isn't some kind of Japanese calligraphy but a more intimate one. Sakurachan is like blotted pen that is still used for taking down notes. Nostalgic
Sakurachan

Santos Dumont

Have you ever had any Shakespearean letter tucked in your old piles? Of course no, but this handwritten typeface causes some images of 18th century bourgeoisie.
Santos Dumont
You can also try Lescueleras

Lescueleras

Virginie

Virginie is somewhat in a hurry. This typeface needs attention after in a hurry. Sometimes, whenever someone in a rush, they would tend to miss out the details, leaving them troubled later - taking them a little time to understand what they wrote.
Virginie

Okay, these were still the ones I've list so far. I'll be back for another fonts. Really, I really have fun time looking up the net for these fonts and then bookmark them (not just bookmark but also downloaded them) Try adding these vocabulary of handwritten type fonts in your designs. Don't worry they are all free.

'Fixed' Design Ideas for Implementation : Careful Planning

When engaging in some form of visual design, we can always come up for a good idea (and best if the idea really comes up from ourselves). And when we come to implement it, changes may happen whether we liked it or not. And in the end, there should be two outcomes: you liked it or not. To better understand what ideas should really be generated, a careful planning of the design should be discussed.

Many of us have encountered many projects before, and of course not all of them meets your standards or for the other. Projects may be motivating if we are in high spirits or some factors included behind it (consider your personal relationships, but in case it haven't been worked out, one thing is for sure, never put the blame on your work - and this is an effective word of advice that the personal life and work should never be done at the same time unless if its healthy). Again, if we consider the factors behind it then we will always depend on it. Let us just take away the idea in this context.
First, the idea pops out in our minds and is left for us if we continue it or, anyways, come up for a better idea. Next, assuming we already have the idea and readily suggest it with the others, chances are some of them may contradict to it or may agree to it if its good or you are the boss of the company. We should also consider that the word group exists is that a number of persons act as one. Being the bossy type or else a mediocre one would mean that you aren't part of the 'working' group. Let's go back, if you and your group shouldn't settle the disagreement, then the idea is vulnerable to changes. Keep in mind that the careful planning of the design should be made, like any other projects: a good initiation is a good start for working it. In here, the design is carefully planned and enumerate the requirements, define the scopes and boundaries, cost/risks and benefits analysis and properly document to support the idea. Present it to the group with confidence to let them know that your sincere. If anyone somehow opens up another idea, don't react to it immediately, be open-minded and hear what the other has to offer. Of course, we will always be biased upon our ideas since we made them. Then if there is a reason to 're'-contradict then it's your call. Then after all this mess, hopefully all of the group is somehow agreed to the plan. (Tip: if you have a good reputation on having a good plan then it will be easy)
Second, carefully lay out the design according to what is planned. Trouble in the design phase have been expected in the requirements phase, if it haven't been expected, the group has the option to do another plan, again as planned or just reiterate the process, return to the specification stage and plan again. I know this is troublesome, if this is a major project or a bigger design, then it is worth to plan as much as what it takes. The time duration of this phase should also be according to the plan. Actually, the first phase should take the longest share of the time since this is the part to create a path to follow what is planned.
Lastly, there must be an output, if the project fails then there are lessons learned. There may be always a reason why the project may fail and it should be 'reasonable'. Since the project is carefully planned, there will be a slim chance of failure, mark my words. Okay, on the bright side, the output, I guarantee that it will be great. The output is implemented according to what is planned. Each one of the group must be proud of it since they work on a group. And then, do not forget to document everything, conclusions must be made for it may be a good reference for the future. Okay, now the project is finished you may also congratulate yourselves for it, take a reward or even do it with the group for this works for the next project. This builds cooperation and unity.
The word for the context is 'plan'. It is repeatedly shown each line. Again, this means that any project must be carefully planned to work out. Let the word 'plan' be emphasized to any projects to implement.

Web Design Type

,

Viewers of an information tend to look up first the length or the layout of the content aside from the attention of its topic. If the content isn't well placed and uses disturbing texts and styles, tendency is viewers wouldn't finish reading the article. And if you're competing for the search page rankings, then you might get a lesser bounce rate that would affect the popularity of the site.
One factor in how users like to read the information posted in the web is the readability of the site's content. Since viewers doesn't limit himself to a site for a reliable information unless if the site is known for its popularity of posted and interesting contents. Writers/Designers would like to divide the content, if it is long, by pages that make the readers have relief in reading. This is one way that a content easily readable. And if we are talking about the use of fonts, its sizes and or the placement/layout of the text then we would consider web type or web typography.
Any kind of designs, if a design includes a text or info, incorporates typography in the design. Designers emphasizes typography since texts are alternative information of the created design. If we deviate more unto the topic of typography, then it has a sort of knowledge which the users will learn. But we don't need to learn them all as long as the content is safely placed and modified that viewers and readers have comfort in reading.
In Web Typography, it can easily be defined using CSS and apply the styles according to its division or tag, no need to define them one by one unless if means a unique design. Since not all fonts are readily available to the web, browsers just define the common ones that are available in each computer or workstation. If you would implement something in which the web couldn't present, one way is to used images of that text. It isn't recommended to use an image alternative to the content's type since viewers may need the information and it is easily for them to just drag and copy up. Another technique is to use complexity by using scripting languages to generate the content according to the type you wanted. The downside of this technique is that load time takes much on these scripts. Just be simple, use something that isn't tough to the users since the information is to be shared not deciphered.

Web Design Medium

How would you present a design over the web? This is one question on how would a web design should be implemented. Many strategies are integrated on the web nowadays, strategies like defining most on prioritizing the design, and the other is the content. Working with a project or with the clients, a designer must always conforms to the decision made by them. Whatever suitable for the audience may be, a web designer should also contribute what is best for what is planned, even though it is hard for him to put into action what is decided.

Without a web developer, a web designer would only implement a static content of the page unless if he also have knowledge in web development. In static content, the webpage is easily designed since the content to be displayed is fixed and one is focused more on the design of the page, but the downside of having this is that pages need to have a higher maintenance. Once the update is done on a webpage then the corresponding pages which have relationship to that said page should also be updated to provide consistency. Static contents are commonly implemented on company folios, about-us pages and credit pages, which these contents need not to be stored as raw facts but information.

Dynamic content is employed to most websites nowadays. These dynamic contents came from stored information like databases that would generate active data to webpages. The content is easier to maintain while putting interest to the design would compromise since the webpages follow a standard so the design is simpler. Most websites that are dynamic uses the MVC (Model-View-Control) structure of their site, in which the content update is a different task over any other. MVC architecture uses powerful system to make it applicable. Web Content Management Systems uses the MVC architecture which the maintenance of the content is another task over the functionality provided by the site. Dynamic Content is usually found data driven websites like the renowned Yahoo! Portal, E-Commerce Systems and many more.

Users also wanted engaging websites not just for wasting time but also finds it enjoyable and they refer the site to other people. Applications may take bandwidth much but make sure the applications are worth the wait. If users can wait then surely they have their expectation much. Web applications may also do the talking to the user, this makes the user and the application provides a unique interaction. Web applications are made under scripting languages like: Javascripts, VBScripts, and PHPs.

Multimedia content can easily be distinguished by the users. Once they encounter on a multimedia content, the attention is focused on it. Make sure that posting multimedia content is well-organized and proficient.

Everyone needs to promote their site to market their content and provide better service. And many people abused their presentation that would catch much attention to the audience, but having a simple website and following all the guidelines, the site would look more credible and appreciable by many users.

Design Workflows

The first basic steps are a little bit confusing if you have an idea and start out the design. One should have a workflow in which he should have the necessary steps to follow. In the process of designing and experimenting creative ideas, he may or may not follow the workflow as specified. Listing what is the workflow one should have eases the tasks for future work on with a reference. The designer may also let the actions be saved until it is intuitive for him to memorize the tasks needed to come up for a design. For professional designers, tasks he will consider are time-consuming and just let another designer do the specific task in which he is in the field of specialty. A designer may also be flexible and diverse – doing all the tasks by himself.

These are some task one should consider:

Setting up the workspace

Every individual has its own workspace – the layout of the interface one works on. If one feels cluttered about the interface on he works on like unnecessary panels, limited space like in canvas, optional menu bars, messy and unintuitive feature placements; one can change them as he want, most design software nowadays include customization of workspaces according to different types of work and save them so one needs not to customize them again for the next work.

Analysis

This may be the long process which not only a designer should work on. Without this, one couldn’t arrive on the exact or planned idea. If a designer is working on a client or with someone else, analysis should be carefully considered to satisfy what is the output. If a designer is working for himself then it is left for him to judge the design. Usually dealing with clients is a hard job, one should have patience in redefining what the user’s needs and wants.

Automation

This part helps the designer automates the tasks. Tasks that takes much time should a designer consider of having tools on automating the tasks, one should need not to work from scratch. There are available tools like frameworks that help the designer complete the tasks; these frameworks can also be customized for the users’ preferences and frameworks have standards or conventions in which one should exercise in designing. Considering the learning of the framework compared to create from scratch, it is ok to use frameworks.

Proofing

Before the final layout of the design to be completed, it is always best to proof the design; check for errors, check for consistency of the design and check for misplaced elements. Working with a client, the designer should show the design to satisfy the client, changes may be made if the client didn’t satisfied and with this, one should appreciate the work behind it.

Deployment

This may be the final process of the workflow. The design made here is final and ready for production if it is produced and or deployed in a site if it is a web design. One should make sure that the necessary things are included like the portions of the file to make it operational.

This step doesn’t need to be always followed or work in exact steps, there are also things to consider and make it as an exception. One may also refine the ideas I raised in the workflows. I may also narrow down the ideas to make it more specific at certain types of operation.
